Yes!  there are hackney horses.... driving horses, the group I'm working with are all 16-17hh, sabino, bay or liver chestnut.  Very smart, quick on their feet, relatively easy going...  still the high knee action and gait (like the ponies)  They are actually a fairly rare breed in the US, interesting to find a "cross breed".
 
 I would *think* they'd add height, a little bone, knee action, a little color, and maybe a little gait.... of course you'll lose some of the pretty delicate face!

I seem to remember that there might be a Hackney horse breed and then a Hackney pony breed from reading one of those breed books.  Not positive though.

Does anyone have experience with Arabian/Hackney crosses? I thought Hackneys were small, but this mare is BIG, much bigger than her dam. What does the hackney add to the mix?
