[RC] Teaching a horse to trot in hand at Vet Checks - Vchorsegal

Hi Barb-
Here are a couple of ideas:  You can teach them a signal, or a verbal cue- my friend uses a whistle to initiate the " I am so not tired yet " trot.  Another way is to practice at home with a lunge whip cocked behind you .  if they don't respond immediately- you wave it or touch them.  Also- practice at home and in other places.  I can trot our lesson horses out on their way to the arena to meet the students, just because they know how to do it from Endurance. Just think energy ! Now, does anybody know how to install a parachute for my Windy who has no brakes !?  He does trot out well in hand, though.  Seems there is always something !  have a great day !  - Heidi Helly
