Re: [RC] Zorse - Anne Heilgeist

I looked at a couple of Zorse's a few years ago when I was in Wisconsin.  Zonies are cute too (pony and zebra) but, based on both my observation and the owner's honest assessment, they tend to be flightier than a two year old Thoroughbred and he didn't recommend them for endurance.  As to how they'll do in a long term home with just pleasure riding, I couldn't say.

I did hear from one of the vets at last spring's Old Dominion that there is an endurance rider out there on a zebra...or was.  Perhaps they're on this list and can chime in.

Best of luck whichever decision you decide to make.

(P.S. All Thoroughbred lovers, of which I am, please don't take umbrage at the statement above.  I have a Thoroughbred myself and she's a wonderful horse.  Those were his words, not mine.)

You ARE aware that a zorse is a zebra-horse hybrid, aren't you? I've heard
zebras are very difficult to deal with. Better check this one out carefully
before buying.
