Re: [RC] [RC] starting horses late - work ethic - Ranelle Rubin

Angie, I have never met an Arab who did not benefit from a "friend and a job"...

I can't wait to get out on Ranger, my new 4 yr old little brother of Fellow's. Both Doc sons..both excellent minds..Ranger is sweeter, more of a pocket pony..but we will see how he feels about that after he does his first 50 in a couple years.

It is just a "feed my soul" feeling watching him trot around his pasture, imagining what it will be like to ride him out on the trail. I rode him in the arena before I bought him, but that doesn't count in my book.

..Watch for this boy in a few years..He is a Doc son out of a Kozsar dtr..and was started very nicely.

When I got my present job as a high school art teacher I replaced a coach
who had let a running poker game go in that classroom for about 3 years.
He claimed he had no money for materials so they couldn't do anything.
The principal warned me that it would be a *tough* job the first year
because the students weren't used to having to work in that class. Well,
the students *could not wait* to do work. They were bored out of their
minds doing nothing. Maybe some lethargic horses might have a problem
starting work, but the average Arab is like the bored hyper kid that's
driving everyone crazy wanting something to do. 7 seems to thoroughly
enjoy every outting. First time his scenery has ever changed and he's
enjoying it.

Angie
