RE: [RC] Slide in Pick-up Camper - Sheila A. Walsh

I found a peach of a slide in cabover camper but soon discovered that it had
leaked over the years between the roof and the interior wall.  So be sure
that you thoroughly go over any camper that you find - poking it - and check
the roof from time to time cause you never want it to leak on you at a ride.
Been there, done that!!!

However, I love having a heater, a potty and a bed and a fridge and a stove.
It isn't bad to drive at all and I pull a 3 horse slant that all my buddies
love to ride in and camp at.

We searched and searched and finally found a 20 year old 8 ft Lance.
Because we once  had a 26 ft travel trailer start to sway (despite being
appropriately equipped), cause our ton passenger van with trailer still
attached to do a 180 and roll both van and trailer, we did not want to use a
hitch extension.  There was no hitch extension involved in the roll over,
but they scare me, a little trauma here, I suspect.

The tiny camper is wonderful.  It's warm and dry and cozy.  Bruce can cook
and I can shower and it's roomy enough  for two people and sometimes a 95 lb
dog.  It was so inexpensive that we don't have much of an investment in it
if we eventually decide to do somethig else.  I'm not sure we will, however.
It works well for us.
