I think the words "starving" and "hungry" are being alternated out. Yes, I know we still have needy, but I also have to work the lunchroom bus duty in the mornings in my school's cafeteria and watch kids go get their "free breakfast", turn up their noses at the sausage biscuit and toss it down, drink the juice and throw *lots* of unopened cartons of milk into the garbage. They laugh because I get them to give me the unopened ones to put in my fridge for coffee, then they stop at the vending machine and buy a $1.25 coke on the way to class. Some poor homeless kid or one with Meth lab parents may be hungry, but when a woman who has a house, job, husband, & phone number and apparently a freezer, mentions that she "loves her own horses" etc. it sounds like there's a decent chance her kids will not waste away if they don't get to gnaw the thigh bone of a 3 year old Arab. Odds are her kids are overweight...our poor people are very prone to obesity.
