Re: [RC] Open European Championship 2007 :Steph's Wrap Up - Kathy Mayeda

Thanks for your support!

We do have our freaks.  I know that Heather Reynolds is one, and I would not be surprised a bit if she wins the Worlds some day!  And of course Becky Hart and Valery Kanavy have both dominated the Worlds for awhile.

I think the team aspect is a lot harder for us to do, as our diversity and vast geography works agains us here.  Belgium is a small country and are I am sure more culturally homogenous than us Americans.  Training together I'm sure is a lot easier.  If my geography is correct, it would be less travel time for them to get together than for me to drive out of the State of California.

Small no doubt ,Kate ,but your 'small number' is huge by  others  standard.Remember, when America cough ,others have chills and rigours.By sheer number  and the diversities you have ,are your strenght. There  are bound to be freaks in the Us that eat sleep and dream endurance 24 hours a day ,proffesional or amateurs . .Remember Belgium have around a couple of hundred registered endurance riders only and yet they are always up there in contention for Team and individual events internationally.
