Here is what I use. It goes under my riding helmet as well as my ski helmet. 
It protects your face and neck too! Another nice thing is you can push it 
down around your neck and pull it up over your nose and mouth if it gets 
really cold. It is thin under your helmet and soft fleece around your neck. 
It is $19.95. You can find them at some ski and sport stores too.
