[RC] AERC 55 National Championship - John Teeter

well, it's quiet in camp now. There were 41 intent riders at the briefing - Steph, Zulu, and Mike Foss presented the overview of the course and vet criteria (64 throughout the day). We expect a rather pleasant 82df for a high and there are worries, of course, for the horses (and mules) going tomorrow. It will be a tough ride. It will be a competative ride for some, a pleasant ride through the Owyhees for others.

I don't know how much info will flow tomorrow. It's not possible to manage one of these events and report at the same time. We'll have updates when possible but it will likely be pretty quiet most of the time. There is a web-site where you can watch the progress of Erin Hafla during the ride. She will be carrying a position monitor and will be projected out through the shortwave (ham) radio network. Will try to get the URL posted during the day. The radio guys are also going to attempt a live video broadcast from the first vet gate - experimental though ...

anyway, it will be a nice day tomorrow I'm sure. The camp is quiet now - the moon is watching.
