RE: [RC] Foot Pain - Susan

I had been living with my right foot going numb and right knee aching for
the past several months and figured it was from a fall when I sprained my
ankle. I had been using an ace bandage to brace my ankle along with lace up
boots. This all helped some but I finally went to a Chiropractor.
Fortunately he is the nephew of my trainer so he understands riding. We
found that my lower back was out of alignment which was causing a pinched
nerve. After 2 sessions I no longer wear the ace or lace up boots...I am
back in my cowboy boots which I love. We figured the out of alignment was
from a fall 3 years ago. He also adjusted my neck and I haven't had a
tension headache in 3 weeks. I sure wish I had found a good Chiropractor 20
years ago when I was mountain bike riding!

I agree that a rigid shoe works much better while you're riding!

A shoe with a more rigid shank will help support the mid-arch better
than a softer shoe. The tradeoff is that if you get off and do some
footwork, a rigid shank isn't very comfortable to jog or run in for any
great distance. Dr Q
