I owned my farm, 6.5 acres in Micanopy , Fl. and decided it just needed a name. It is in Alachua County in the Wacahoota area, all Seminole Indian names. I went to the library and researched the Seminole Indians looking for a catchy name. Well most Seminole words are hard to spell and harder to pronounce. So since the Seminole Indians had originated in Georgia but were run out and ranaway from Georgia to Florida, and my horses were known in the neighborhood for getting out and running away, RUNAWAY FARM was born. I am now Runawaywoman and I breed Runaway Australian Terriers who also live up to the name in Ride Camp.
