RE: [RC] Men, Women, and Fear - heidi

It's very simple, Dr. Q.  We need to appear to fear something that is small enough for men to conquer, so that they can still feel manly when they lose control of the remote.  We know that you can't deal with the big stuff, like childbirth and dirty diapers.  But we figure that we can concede on spiders without any great loss, and thus make you feel all warm and fuzzy when you handle them for us.

Dr. Crowenshrubs (who is not the least bit scared of spiders and snakes, but don't tell my husband that or I'll come right down there and take away your remote!)

Man's greatest fear is permanently losing the remote control, and
having to actually get up to change the channel each time.
The women riders at Tevis confuse me, however. How can they train for
a year, drive hundreds of highway miles towing precious cargo, saddle up
in the dark, ride in dust as thick as pea soup amongst bucking and
kicking horses, conquer Cougar Rock, ride along ridge lines that can
kill them and their horse, stay awake for 30 hours or more to get to the
finish line, and still be afraid of a spider?
I'm not spending any more time trying to figure it out. Dr Q
