Re: [RC] Cougar Rock video - geckogal85@xxxxxxxxx

If my horse was that upset about that climb and there was the option to go around. I wouldn't have risked his safety for a picture

Kristi,
I am not sure it is the steepest part of the trail, but for me it was the scariest. My horse Shar-po and I attempted Tevis on the 50th Anniversary ride.
We started to ascend Cougar Rock and Shar-Po went half way up and then ran back down, as he could see all the riders going around. He did this three times. I was so determined to go over as we had come all the way from Florida that I let one of the runners help me get him started up a 4th time and we made it over. I must admit in my picture the horse looks awesome, but I sadly was hanging on his mouth with the reins. I have never been so scared, I don't know if I would do it again if I have the chance. I really wanted that picture. There is a shadow in the picture behind my horse,it is of the runner who helped me, his name was Gordon I beleive. I will be forever grateful to him as the beautiful picture is hung proudly over my fireplace.
