This is so disappointing.  I massively enjoyed playing tourist while
volunteering at the 2001 Pan Ams held at the Green Mountain Horseman's
Assocation in Woodstock, Vt.  The funnest part was meeting all the
people and seeing all the horses from around the country.
 
That such an event can never occur again does *not* represent any
kind of progress toward anything.  The sport is poorer for its loss.
