Re: [RC] [RC] something fishy - desertrydr1

Heck, I can beat that, I have five horses and two mules.  All of them have names, but I usually call all the girls "Siss" and the one boy is "Boo-Boo" or "Bubba"  My dog(s) and cats get the same thing.  Saves having to remember all those names and features.  Confuses people a bit tho--"I thought THAT on's name was Sissy"  jeri

I know nothing about the issue at hand, but I can say as the owner of
many horses, and rider of even more over the years, I do the same
thing. Even my own horses are refered to by their sex, color, and age
more often than their names. When talking or working with other people
who may not know your horses names, they usually are at least adept at
noticing the sex and color. Also, this saves embarrassment when you're
asking about other people's horses, because while I can remember color
and sex myself, I usually am awful at names.

Even my cats that have names are referred to by their sex and color.
It's just simpler. It doesn't mean I am any less bonded with them.
