[RC] [RC] EqStim Immunostimulant ?? - Patti

Hi...me again and in need of info. Has anyone every used EqStim
Immunostimulant? Or Zylexis Immunomodulator?   Thinking about using
one of these for Huginn, to boost his immune system. THANKS!

There's a difference between "boosting" (or supporting) the immune system (providing the building blocks for the body to establish and maintain immunity) and "stimulating" the immune system - which is actually some degree of causing an inflammatory response to "wake up" the immune system for a stronger response. This is what the adjuvants in vaccines do - and what causes reactions to some vaccines.

Your vet would want to review his bloodwork to judge if he's already having an inflammatory response before deciding to use one of these. If the basic components of a good immune system are there but just aren't responding, then these could be appropriate.
If Huginn's problems have a component of an overactive immune response to whatever caused this in the first place, an immune stimulant could worsen it.
