RE: [RC] coyote threat - Marjorie CarmanIm originally from BC Canada where there are a lot of Coyotes plus plenty of wilderness areas ,now we live in Western Kentucky we have 5 acres but I can see my neighbors in all directions and we have Coyotes out our back door they don’t bother anything they hunt rabbits which is okay by me as we have rabbits every where! The horses just look when they run across the field and these are pure Coyote . Now it’s the neighbor dogs im more concerned about they will chase the horses. Im still looking for my first bear at LBL though I cant believe there are no bears! The half Eastern wolf and half coyotes has resulted in a half wolf/half coyote that is not near as shy as the Eastern wolf. I wonder where the coyotes have come from in the East. Back in the 60's we never heard of coyotes in Western KY. When I lived in Maryland and Virginia we never heard of them. I never saw them in the wild except in the Rockies until the mid 80's when I saw on in Florida. The population in the East has seemed to literally exploded.
