Re: [RC] How tree hugging hurts the environment/trying to keep endurance focus - Lynne Glazer

Excellent, Angie M (izzat because I agree with you point for point?) For sure, we need a name, environmental-realist, but that implies everyone else isn't (insulting maybe) Or maybe it's like animals where you're either for animal rights (nature conservancy-PETA and their ilk, nobody can use the land/animals) or animal welfare (sensible caring animal, forest/land care.)

I love the word "steward" in this context.

BTW - if environmentalists are tree huggers, is there a term to
describe those on the other side of the debate?

To Angie Fura From Angie McGhee (trying to avoid confusion here)

<snip>

I'm not automatically *for* anything like clearcutting, or stip mining just because I am not a member of the Nature Conservancy or the Sierra Club, I can care without agreeing with them.

Sooo, if we can't be "Environmentalist" how
does...."Environmental-realist" sound? :-)

Angie McGhee (Looking forward to the Southeastern Trails Symposium where
I'm sure I'll learn more)
