Re: [RC] What's in a Name (was: 'Grand Prix' style, etc.) - rides2far

I find it quite funny that this new idea of how to run an endurance
ride> where riders are stopped after it becomes apparent that they are
no
longer in contention for placement is call "Grand Prix style."

I dunno. Think about it. As a child, reading books I mentally pronounced
"Prix" to ryme with "Twix" (cereal). If you consider the confusion when
many countries are coming together for an international sport there could
easily have been someone who thought "Prix" and "Pricks" were one and the
same. Now go to the Spanish meaning for "Grand" which is " Big" and put
it all together...."The Big Pricks" type finishing style. It fits! (I
apologize, that's really not like me to use that word but it made sense
to me)

P.S. May the lice of a thousand camels infest the undies of the person
who proposed this and got it through...and their hands be handcuffed
behind their backs!
