[RC] saddles - Kathleen A. Crothers

I have a horse that has an extremely wide back and withers. I also had trouble
finding a saddle for him but luckily already owned a Bob Marshall. I found it
slipped a lot on him until I started double rigging it with a cross your heart
girth. This is an X like girth. That made all the difference in the world in
keeping the saddle stable and even worked well with my other horse I was having
girth rubbing issues with. OF used to sell them and I used one years ago on my
OF saddle. Now you can get the girth from Stablegear Tack www.ciwtrailers.com.
They are expensive but well worth the cost. I've been using the Bob Marshall
on my endurance horses for years now and am satisfied with it. I did have to
go to a good skito pad with the laminated foam for my one horse. I've tried
other saddles but have always gone back to the BM. Good luck with the saddle
hunt. Happy Trails, Kathy
