[RC] re: RC stupid questions from a saddle buying virgin - Judy Houle

I have had a Bob Marshall Sport Saddle for 10 years.
It does not slip. It molds to the shape of the back
and you can get away with a loose cinch. It rides
like a bareback pad with extra security. I find since
I am lower down on my horse's back, my center of
gravity is lower and I feel more secure. It is more
close contact. You can get certain models with horns,
but I find them unecessary. They are very comfortable.
Mine is one inch of soft neoprene, and any time I
ride a regular saddle it feels like a rock. I have
been using a woolback pad with mine and never have had
a sore back. If you are a heavyweight rider or ride
heavy in the saddle, you might need a more specialized
pad, but otherwise they are unecessary.
