Ok Truman....Where do you think that Rose falls in this....Not  a good endurance

I liken climbing steep climbs like weight lifting. It takes pure
strength - which normally calls for big muscles. However, big muscles
have some shortfalls when it comes to "endurance." You don't see very
many big muscular human marathon runners. Bottom line I think it takes a
good mix of muscle types.

Humans build muscle by lifting weights. There are a lot of strong guys
that don't appear that to be "muscular." I guess with horses this is
where a lot of work on steep hills or galloping up hills, or sand work,
etc. comes in play.
