I've also seen this.  Had one mare that would fake lameness whenever you took her to a show.  She would only fake for about 5 minutes and then would be fine for the rest of the night.  Very smart animal.

This issue has come up on Ridecamp in the past and different people
wrote to tell of horses and ponies that were adept at faking lameness.
Perhaps someone who wrote before could either reference the date they
wrote or share again now?
