[RC] What is a Sweet Feed - k s swigart

Donna Winters said:

Interity is not a sweet feed. It contains less than
3 lbs of whole oats to every 50 lb bag.

Generally speaking the term "sweet feed" has to do with molasses
content, not oats (or any other grain) content.

So A&M (chopped alfalfa hay and molasses, no grain at all) is a "sweet
feed."

While most pelleted feeds have at least a small amount of molasses in
them to get the pellets to hold together in the pelleting process, it is
not very much, and the resulting product is not "sticky" like sweet
feeds are.

If you can see and feel the molasses, its a sweet feed.
