RE: [RC] Replacing Trailer floor boards - Karen Standefer

Trex is also heavier than the same size wood boarding by quite a bit.

I'm not familiar with Trex per se but most synthetic deck boards require more frequent bracing because they are not as strong as the wood usually used in a trailer.  They are also more expensive than regular flooring and you will be adding weight if you add the plywood.  As one who recently replaced a deck with plywood under the decking, I can tell you it not only does not discourage rot, it encourages it, even with synthetic wood decking.

You could talk to Brenderup about their flooring which seems to be a kind of plywood.  Also, if I had the money, I would go for the rumbar (sp?) rubber floor planks.  If your trailer is on the new side, it might be worth it because it would take care of rot pretty much forever (at least as advertised).
