RE: [RC] [RC] Price differences in CA.. vs TN - Ranelle Rubin

It is all relative folks..We have higher living/housing costs here in CA, yes. We have the best weather here, and more rides/public trails. I happen to be fortunate enough to live where it all started, in Auburn. Anyone who wants to come ride the Tevis trail....come on out..we have room!

We have overcrowding in some areas (easy to get away from though IMO), and too many lawyers!

I love the people in the South..I have had many clients in TN, KY, FL, TX (I know, not really the south) and they are just REAL folks!

We are all such a melting pot, especially in this sport where the trail and the distance/speed we chose is the real playing field!

Let's all just go ride!

Yes, but do you pay $400,000 for a 900 sf 2 bedroom condo?

True - prices do AVERAGE higher in CA... But then again - my Aunt teaches
public highschool Chem in CA (Bay area) - with a bacheler's degree. She
makes $80K+ per year.. When I finally Graduate with a PhD and start teaching
highschool chem/Bio in TN public schools - I'll be lucky to get $48K..(with
a bacheler's it's <$35K per year)

So in CA - the state gives it's teachers far more than we get here in TN...
So for our costs (hay, farrier, vet, tires, etc...) to increase to the same
prices as CA - it hits our budgets 2-3X as hard..

BTW - for the same state job my husband holds here in TN - CA offers almost
three times the salary....
