Re: [RC] Old Dominion Trail /Bosana Boots Questions - Barbara McCrary

I heard my son-in-law comment about the Bosanna boots he had on his horse last year for a 50-miler.  The trails were pretty mellow, but the horse has some foot issues that require boots for his protection.  My S-I-L said the boots are quite bulky and caused the horse to be less sure-footed on narrow sections of trail.  Of course he was riding a 16.2 hand half Warmblood horse, too.  Big monster, but gorgeous and capable of doing 100 miles.

Subject: [RC] Old Dominion Trail /Bosana Boots Questions

I keep hearing that the OD trail has lots of rocks.  For the 100 mile riders are there more rocks on the first parts of the trail or towards the end?  Are they slab rock boulders or sharp edged shale type?  How much gravel road or hard surface is there?

If you had to guess, what percentage of the trail has rocks? Is there much boggy trail?

We are considering using Bosana Boots on this ride.  Anybody use those?

Thanks
