[RC] trimming easy boot epics /Goo correction - sherman

I keep my glues/goos in a drawer together and THOUGHT I was using Shoe
Goo, instead I discovered yesterday that what I've been using to glue on
the shoes (that worked well) is Amazing Goop, all purpose household
contact adhesive & sealant. The big difference between this stuff and
Shoe Goo is the drying time. Shoe Goo does not dry quickly enough, as I
found out yesterday when I grabbed it from the drawer and used instead
of Amazing Goop. All 4 boots came off by the end of my 18 mile ride (:<(
I had the correct adhesive stuck in my saddlebag, but didn't apply it
when the boots fell off because I didn't realize that I had two
different adhesives in the drawer.

So DON'T use SHOE GOO, use AMAZING GOOP, or something else that's
flexible, waterproof, adheres to almost anything AND, very importantly,
dries quickly! Sorry about the previous misinformation.

Kathy

Shoe Goo is a flexible, waterproof glue, that is marketed to use in
repair of athletic shoes. I put the boot on and before I fasten the
clip, I put a big glob of the goo down the front of the boot. Then I
fasten it. If I don?t use enough goo, then a boot will come off, but I?m
getting it worked out so the boots stay on well during 15-20 mile
trot/canter conditioning rides. I carry a tube of goo with me ?just in
case? I lose a boot, and then I re-goo when I put it on. The goo is easy
to get out of the boot, actually most of it sticks to the hoof wall, not
very pretty, but easier than picking EasyFoam out of every boot each
time I ride. I don?t have enough time in my life to do that.
