[RC] trimming easy boot epics - Karen Casemier

I'm getting ready to experiment with Epics for my horse. There is tons of great information written by Karen on easycares site. What I'm trying to determine is if I should trim the back of the boot/heel strap as suggested in Karen's directions, or if that is only necessary for standard easy boots without the gaitor. I can't determine if the trimming is recommended just to decrease the risk of the horse pulling a boot (which would be negated by the gaitor that covers that same area), or also to reduce the chance of rubbing.
