Ahhhh, kids get hurt doing any sport. The
difference is, people like to blame the horse for the
injuries, not the fact any sport a kid does, they can get hurt. Its part of
growing up. Fortunately we have helmets and we usually buy nice,
broke horses for our kids. In my day (like I'm so old) we didn't ride
with helmets and we learned on little nasty ponies that we got dumped off
ALL THE TIME. We just didn't tell our parents. ;-)
My husband would NOT be thinking this thread is funny at all
right about now. He's having serious problems with the fact that his
daughter and I ride. She broke her collarbone coming off her horse 3
weeks ago and he's feeling like we're going to die at any moment if we
keep riding! Of course she's not helping matters by stating
her goal is to get healed fast so she can do her first 50
in September!!! And I'm leaving to do a 50 this Thursday and he'll
be a wreck all weekend I'm sure!
