Re: [RC] Electrolytes - Jody Rogers-ButtramWell, yes you have opened the Big Elyte can of worms.  :)) I am a huge fan of LyteNows.  If for no other reason than they DO have a 3 minute absorption rate.  I have seen it too many times. For example, the other weekend at Biltmore, came into the 70 mile mark with Aries, she has a history of cramping.  She didn't drink well enough and I must not have given her enough electrolytes, but for whatever reason, she cramped as I was coming into the VC.  I walked her to our crew area, gave her a big dose of Lytenows, let her stand for about 10 minutes, and then took her to the vets for PR.  She trotted out with an A on gait.  When she was coming into the VC, she was dragging a hind toe and wouldn't hardly move. They work that well.  She did get B's on hydration, gums, jugular....all showing
the factors that played into the cramping....but she pulled out of that cramp in 10 minutes and then went back out on the trail   !!!!  She didn't finish the ride, pulled at 86 miles, but not because she was cramping, but because the cramping just sapped her energy.  It is amazing that she came out of the cramp and did another 14.4 miles in that mud.   To me, that speaks volumns for the LyteNows.  She was just too far behind the 8 ball to pull thru the ride at that point. I have seen them work that fast on other horses as well.     Jody Beth Walker <bwalker2@xxxxxxx> wrote: I'm sure I'll get 50 different opinions here (or more...) but: I was
