I know that John (nor probably most of us) want the RC list to become an ad list, or vendors' list; it would quickly become annoying and non-productive. However, in this current 48 hour window, I am really enjoying, and benefiting from, all these impromptu "ads." So, I propose this to John: How about having a monthly (or if that's too much, quarterly?) 24 hour "ad time" so that vendors, breeders, etc. can post ads to the list on that day? That way, the on-line stores and breeders, for example, can post their sales and current info to the list, but it would be limited to that day. What do you think?
