[RC] Rule changes [30 vs 60 mins] - Kristen A Fisher

Truman is right - and there already IS a rule that can be used to address this issue:

6.2.1 The minimum criteria for the post-finish-line vet check are as follows. Any ride may adopt more stringent criteria, but these must be provided to competitors before the ride in written form.

Because ride climates and terrain vary so much, and because the locals who vet and manage the rides are most intimately involved in the specifics of those rides, it seems clear they they should be the ones deciding if vet criteria needs to be more stringent [which can include final VC time windows - 6.2.1.1 All equines must stand a mandatory post-ride evaluation within one hour of finish].

Why not let AERC "TRY IT" that way, via the discretion of local management, rather than impose another global rule?

Kristen
