[RC] Competitive Trail Driving - cartfall

I used to ride distance in the 80s and 90s. CTR and endurance. I quit riding
about 7 years ago when my knees began to fail (old motorcycle
accident=arthritis). I had always played around with driving and took to
driving full time. All of my endurance bred Arabians drive. One mare has gone
on to do CDEs (that is 3 day eventing in a carriage) quite successfully.

I have recently taken to trail driving again for fun. It has brought back all
my great memories of hours in the saddle training and competiting in the
forests. I miss it greatly. That lead to memories of drivers at CTRs in the
early 90s here in Central Florida. So I started on a quest to re-introduce
driving back in to CTRs. I have much positive response from interested
drivers, ride managers, and both governing organizations in the state. I am
certain there will be driving division offered in the CTRs in this state next
fall.

Comes my question--I have had a number of drivers of minatures horses and small
ponies. There are no rules in place for this size equine here in Florida. I
doubt their ability to do 25 miles on a good solid trail much less the sand we
drive in. Have any of you ever seen a ride where equines of this size
competed? Was the course the same or of a lesser distance for them?

Thanks for your time in advance.
Sue
