Re: [RC] [RC] " when Lakota did his "Exit, stage left!" maneuver" - Dawn Carrie

My current horse doesn't spook much any more, but nearly all of his spooks have been to the right...all 4 times I've come off him, I've come off on the left.  My older guy is a little more balanced (term used loosely LOL).  He spooks about 60% of the time to the right, 40% to the left.  But his spooks are pretty darn violent...ain't no stayin' on when he does the ol' "drop the shoulder and 180" routine!"  <G>  Thank goodness he rarely does them.  The youngster hardly ever spooks, at least with me.  He's dumped a friend several times, though.

Interesting that you should comment that way.  Seems that is direction I
have always had to deal with, especially with the most 'exotic' dismounts.
Anyone have experience going more one way or the other?  ie right or left

That horse is the one I used the Aussie saddle on and it did make a
difference.  I am riding in a Passier dressage saddle now and have a deep
seat but not like the aussie.  I no longer have that horse for more reasons
that the sudden left hand exits.
