Re: [RC] [RC] [Endurance Riding: News] FEI CoC for 2008 WEC - 10:40 and 12 months! - Maryanne Gabbani

Ok, toughening up the pulls for metabolics makes some sense here, but the speed? Am I missing some essential logical link here?

Begin forwarded message:

The FEI has modified the qualification requirements competitors much achieve to participate in the 2008 World Endurance Championship. These requirements have been change to necessitate the achievement of the FEI Certificate of Capability (CoC) with in 12 months of the event.

Additionally, the CoC time for 2008 WEC qualification has changed from 13 hours and 20 minutes (per 160km) to 10 hours 40 min!

This change is specific for the 2008 WEC in Malaysia and does not effect CoCs associated with other 4* FEI events.

Additionally, riders and horses may loose their CoC if a) the horse is withdrawn from a competition (either FEI or local) for metabolic reasons within 6 months or if the rider has two consecutive eliminations, on any mount, for metabolic reasons within 12 months of the competition.
