Fw: [RC] mules in international events - Dot Wiggins

Back when almost all international equestrian competitions were fielded by each nation's military riders (pre WWll)  two of the US team's top jumpers  were mules.  One was named Hambone, I've forgotten the other.   They lived in honored retirement at, I think, Ft Collins, CO, long after the Army had a mounted unit.  One lived into his 40's I believe.  Their pictures used to show up now and then.

Mules have not gotten recognition in international events except for endurance for years. In fact, they were not allowed to compete.
