Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Horses and "fun" - RHONDA LEVINSON

My horses LOVE tractors! The guy who was putting up hay in our pasture left his tractor in the pasture overnight -- thinking that he could just close the cab door and leave it there. One of my horses opened the cab, climbed in with his front end and inspected everything and ate the guy's left-overs from his lunch. My dad saw the horse inside the cab (the horse is 17.2 hh) and got him out and made me lock up the horses overnight. [This same horse used to love to play tag with our Lab. He would actually put his front legs waaaaay out in front of him and bow like a dog to get the dog to start playing with him.]

Everytime my dad goes into the pasture with his tractor, the horses crowd around and want to inspect everything and play with my dad. My dad thinks my horses are weird because he thinks horses "ought" to be afraid of tractors and trailers and noisy stuff.

My pasture horses have great fun playing with my boyfriend's stuff. He left
the big tractor in the pasture and in 5 minutes there were 10+ helpers
there. Opie, my mustang, had his front feet in the bucket and AJ was
inspecting the dashboard. They even pushed in one of the levers. When he
was fixing fences the other day, one of them took his hammer out of the
bucket and his safety glasses and then (finding no food) turned the entire
bucket over. Still no food, so they just took the bucket....
