Re: [RC] [RC] Safety issues with spot-on type bug control? - Dawn Carrie

I seem to recall that they tell you to put it somewhere on the horse's front legs...DON'T put it where they can rub their eyes on the place you put it.  They will get badly swollen eyes from it.  Watch how they rub their faces on their front legs to scratch, and then place it carefully where they can't get it on their eyes.  Other than that, I haven't heard of any problems...but then I've only used it once.

When spot-on type bug control for horses first came out, I remember hearing
concerns about neurological effects from long-term use.  So I never seriously
considered using them.

But now that my horse is living in a paddock that will be INFESTED with black
flies and mosquitoes in a few weeks, I'm reconsidering!  They're still on the
market, so there can't be any major issues... right???

Is there a brand that seems to work best?
