[RC] HRM - April

For a good GPS and HRM integrated unit, you can't go wrong with a Garmin Forerunner 305 with Roger Rittenhouse's adapter kit (www.vmaxept.com). It's a great training device. I never ride without mine. With the $50 rebate offer from Garmin, you can get the whole setup for less than $275. The increased analysis you get later with speed, distance and HRM all in the same data set is very handy indeed.

I'm looking at this horse heart rate monitor for our training needs, and
was wondering how folks feel about it.

Are there any other models I should seriously consider?  Durability,
survivability, and value are my most important considerations.  $170 is
about as much as I want to spend; might even consider used.

Thank you,
