RE: [RC] EZ Knees for theis weekend ride - Alison Farrin

ROTFL
Do you know how many times I've broken that rule? Just about every time I go to a ride!<G>
First, a ten mile training ride is not enough to tell you that its not going to work at 45 miles.  (ok, the stirrup keepers on the orthoflex saddle were a no go by mile 2 - but that's unusual!)
Second, whatever new stuff I ordered ALWAYS shows up the week of a ride and I have no ability to postpone using new goodies if I'm going to be riding anyway.
Try them - but make sure you have your original set up to switch back to if you find they are not working out.

Mike,

I am still fairly new at this, but with all the different theories and methods used by the other riders I have met, there has been one constant rule to live by. That rule is : Never try anything new at a ride. Test it first at home during training.

This applies to saddles, tack, clothing, medication, feed, shoes, horse boots , or anything else you would use at a ride.   Ask Doctor Q about trying somebody elses potato salad before Tevis? It showed how months of training can be wiped out by something so trivial as different food.(and bad Mayo?)

The EZ Knees may be the best thing you have ever done to help your riding. But try it at home first. It may also leave your leg in bloody blisters. Halfway through a ride you have worked so hard to get to, is not the place to discover something doesn't work for you.

Have fun at FITS
