[RC] A tired stallion is a good stallion! - FreeForm USA

What if you can't get him tired?  My 5 YO Shagya is a big horse with next to nothing on him as far as conditioning I am continually amazed at his heart rates and recoveries as compared to my CMK gelding... He has only been under saddle for 10 weeks, his longest ride being 20 miles. He does have a few little studly moments but for the most part you would never know he was one.    He has his own area but plays with the other geldings over the fence all day long. I was very hesitant to buy a stalion, but this guy has been a real joy.  Keep in mind that I have NO mares..................

It is sad that so m any people just warehouse their stallions, but  you're
right, endurance riders are more likely to get their boys out doing  something!

By howdy you KNOW it! Ever tried to give a 4 year old boy a "time-out"?  lol!
A stallion needs a job, at least one worth his salt. Ours has never been a
cough potato and what a pleasure he is to ride, breed, hang around with. Too
many stallions never amount to much because their people are either afraid of
hurting them or just afraid of them,. period. Maybe they shouldn't be
stallions  if they are so frail or scary, eh?
