Long ago and far away, I had a five-gaited
saddlebred with the registered name Prince Sunbeam. Lucky he wasn’t
human, that kind of name will get you beat up in some bars, even in California. And he
was neurotic. I wasn’t going to call him Prince Sunbeam if you held
a loaded gun to my head, so his name was KC. He was still neurotic.
I eventually sold him to someone that liked neurotic saddlebreds and she called
him Kansas City.
He was still neurotic. Eventually, he became a lot less neurotic, so
either he got tired of being neurotic, or was so neurotic he forgot we’d
changed his name and he was supposed to be neurotic about it.
