[RC] Kids and Endurance - Becky Hackworth

I have 5 children. 3 of whom have ridden Endurance with me and occasionally all at the same time. I did not have a hard and fast age, but for my own sanity I had my own rules. Oh, and Hubby was active Duty Navy and never about.

OK, rules for my own kids before I would take them on an Endurance ride with me.

1) Must take care of their own horse. 2) Must be big enough to saddle their own horse. 3) Must be able to get on their own horse. 4) Must be able to control their own horse. 5) Must be able to do an entire training ride with a smile! No whining!

Now, those were mine. Obviously not everyone's. Karen is a saint in my book.

Now except for saddling and getting on at a pee break, Colton did just fine. Now at said pee break on trail, there were about 6 "Mom's" out there to help him back on. But he took it from there.

You can sure tell it is too cold out to go ride this week. Winter time on RC is so predictible.
