Yes, they sure do, within reason, of course.  It's that "within reason" that is
the issue.

Tell me, what is so terrible about a six-year-old growing for a couple of years
before starting into such a demanding sport?  It's so easy for us to become
blase about the real demands and real dangers that come with endurance rides.
