==========================================

Sorry not at my primary computer right now. Getting ready to go to sleep.

Bruce: I certainly don't speak for everyone. I am am making the statements
based on the dozen or so riders at the DG ride who were pretty pissed off as
well as what I read in the posts on RideCamp. Also I have received several
offline emails since my original post from LD riders who feel very differently.
They have said to me in the emails that they are tired of being treated
differently and they won't post anymore because they are tired of being blasted
by people who list their credentials and just make them feel even more small. I
know many great riders with extremely high mileage who have never touted their
records to anyone and instead suggest that there may be a better way to do
something. A much better way to get your point across. I know who you are and
the amount of time you have spent in endurance. But time in any endevor doesn't
necessarily make someone right. Someday someone will file a protest and then
this issue will finally be decided. Also the example of 50 mile times not being
recorded was a hypothetical situation to let you empathize with what some LD
riders feel. It was supposed to make you think about how you would feel if you
were in their position.

Merryben:
If she did win BC where is it posted. Certainly not on the ride results. I
haven't seen it and I justed looked again. Remember AERC's primary
responsiblity is record keeping, not deciding whether rules are broken or
enforced. I understood that is the responsibility of a variety of committeies
made up of individual members. But if you feel that the rules are read
interperted correctly as you perceive them then why don't ride managers
indicate pre ride whether they are going to post results or not.

Finally to all including Diane:

Why does this seem to only be a problem in the West (north & PS) regions and no
where else? I felt really bad for the lady who came from Colorado to ride the
LD at DG (that's all she rides) and didn't know what the political scene was
out here. She told me during the ride that if she had know she wouldn't have
come. Maybe the rain had something to do with it.
