Re: [RC] Silver Star frame/bracing... what gives?!?!? - Mike Lewis

Thank you, Laney. Think I got it figured out... :-) There's precedent
for mounting these "inside" the trailer by just raising the bathroom area
floor and putting the tank beneath. I can live with doing that... as long
as all fittings stay tight and the tank never ruptures... :-)

There are other options as well...

When I read your first post, I was going to suggest that you contact
Silver Star & ask them how they recommend installing the tank. Or maybe

just let them do it?
Good luck!

Upon inspection today in DAYLIGHT, I see that the flooring is braced
about
every 6 inches. Simple bracing method, no big deal. I'm just
wondering
why this was chosen over a more conventional method that might allow
for
tank installation.

Guess the trailer will have to go back to Silver Star to have a proper
floor done to handle the tanks...?

Might as well upgrade axles and brakes while its there (the cash
register
in my head just went, "cha-ching...")

I have an '02 Silver Star and was wondering how I'd install the black
water tank. I'm wondering even more, now.

The bottom of the trailer, beneath all the flooring, doesn't have
crossmembers in the traditional sense. Silver Star used some other
method
of bracing the floor. Not sure how to describe it, but I see no
possible
way to mount a black water tank under the trailer between frame
supports.

Anyone run into this before? Can anyone explain what Silver Star
did,
why
they did it, and how we Silver Star owners can work around it when
building full LQ into our trailers?

Thank you,

Mike
