RE: [RC] insulation--horse trailer LQ - Bob Morris

For insulation that is flexible look into Tekfoil Insulation
It is quite adaptable for use in lining a trailer.

Subject: [RC] insulation--horse trailer LQ

Hi Mike, I am also insulating a new trailer so am very
interested is how you are doing things. I was at Home Depot
today and found the same insulation (I think)you are using.
My insulation is rigid. Is yours? What are you going to do
about covering the curves in the trailer and the interior
roof portions.?. My insulation won't bend without breaking,
so I am thinking of joining several smaller horizontal
pieces together and inserting them. Is this workable? Or is
there something easier and better. I am having a heck of a
time even finding insulation. fiberglass in rolls is just
about all they have, and I know that isn't right. Betsy
(open to, and PLEADING for suggestions)

covered on the other. R-value is supposed to be 5, I
believe, which I
think will be adequate based on others' feedback when
using R-value of
3.

The 2" tape was of adequate thickness for my appliation.
Only managed
to get 3 sections done before dark today (didn't get home
from Lowe's
till
3:30.) Things are coming together fairly well, although I
had to use some
spray foam in a spot or 2 on one panel where it had broken
inside and
crumbled after I cut it. I'm pretty happy with this, but
no telling what
will need to be done if I ever intend to have
professionally done LQ
installed. I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we come
to it.

Mike
