Thank you for your replies, everyone.  I'll forego the glue in light of
what I've read here and what I've seen others do.  The 2" aluminum tape
seems to do the trick.

I do have some concerns about toxicity... which is why I'm thinking there
has to be some sort of vapor barrier or something over the insulation. 
Will research that a bit, too.
