Re: [RC] Made for endurance or no? - rides2farA disturbing comment was made to me today when I was talking about endurance "riding" with my apha mare, in which I was told I probably didn't pick a suitable horse for that. I remember back when I knew everything... I showed up at my first endurance ride and looked around critiquing the horses for my husband. The one I thought "will probably going to win the 100 tomorrow" turned out to be a completer in the 25. The ones that I thought were rejects that had been bought at an auction the week before (they still had the numbers on their hips!) were the ones that looked great after the 100. Oh yeah, I also gave Lynda Corry the benefit of my brilliance when I informed her that her horse was too "deerlike" and had pasterns too long to ever do 100's. Nobody told the horse. He did something like 17, and 4000+ miles over something like 14 years. If I were you I wouldn't lose any sleep over this woman's comments.
